Kawakawa

Kawakawa is a beautiful New Zealand native with big heart shaped leaves.

These leaves are often found holey and this is due to hungry caterpillars of the Kawakawa looper moth (Cleora scriptoria). Research has shown that the chewed leaves have more active compounds, triggered and released by the caterpillars munching. These are the leaves that are used to make the infused oil and Kawakawa tea that we make our soap from.

This handmade Kawakawa soap is a nourishing and invigorating blend of natural ingredients that work together to cleanse, moisturize, and heal the skin. The soap is made using sea water sourced from the Taranaki West Coast, which is known for its high mineral content that helps to detoxify and rejuvenate the skin.

The soap is enriched with a blend of nourishing oils, including cocoa butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, and jojoba oil. These oils are carefully selected for their moisturizing and healing properties, which help to soothe dry, irritated skin and leave it feeling soft and supple.

The star ingredient in this soap is Kawakawa, a native New Zealand plant that has been used for centuries for its healing and medicinal properties. The Kawakawa leaves are infused in the soap, imparting their healing properties to the skin. Kawakawa is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, making it ideal for treating a range of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

The soap is carefully crafted by hand to ensure that each bar is unique and of the highest quality. It is perfect for anyone who wants to indulge in a little bit of luxury.

This bar is vegan, palm oil free and free from artificial and synthetic detergents, colours and fragrance.

All our soaps are handmade in small batches. We use the cold process method and natural skin loving Palm-oil free ingredients. Our soaps are then left to cure for 4-6 weeks. They are hand cut and hand packaged, due to the unique hand made process, each bar will vary slightly in size, shape and appearance to the photo, but the minimum weight of each bar is 110g.

Care instructions: Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Use within 12 months for best fragrance. Once in use, we recommend the use of a soap dish with good draining. Allow soap to dry out between uses to increase the life of the bar.
